About Data Loss

Most of us are comfortable and familiar with insurance. We insure our cars, office equipment, wages etc but one thing you can't insure is data loss.

If you are like the average business owner or manager you will have other priorities and concerns that can distract you from the technology side of the business.

Let me make it quite clear that data loss will happen. It's just a matter of when and whether you are prepared and able to recover quickly and efficiently. There are enough threats to any business from things like hardware failure, viruses, theft, power surges, blackouts etc to warrant putting in place a satisfactory backup solution.

I can't help but repeat, "Backups don't just happen, but data loss does". Your only insurance will be to have that data backed up, encrypted and stored in a satisfactory location.

Minimising the risks of losing valuable business data should be done with a pro-active approach...
