Security

AlphaStor's backup service has a number of levels of security to ensure that your data is safe and secure. Our online backup service is probably more secure that the methods you are currently using as they are encrypted and stored in a secured centre. Generally traditional methods of backing up are not encrypted and rarely stored offsite, making them easily accessible and prone to problems.

User

Your user name and password form the credentials for authorisation on the backup server as well as the key for your encryption.

Secret Encryption Key

If you don't want to use the default encryption key you can also specify your own secret encryption key which only you will know.

Computer Name

The Server also keeps track of your computer name, providing another level of security. You can only backup and restore data to a computer of the same name.

Encryption

You have a choice of 3 world-class encryption standards with up to 448 encryption. All data is encrypted before leaving your computer and is stored in an encrypted state making it completely indecipherable to anyone else.

Server Security

Our servers are located in AC3 one of two defence certified data centres in the southern hemisphere.
